NMSU TO HOST ANNUAL MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. BREAKFAST


ico State University's Black Programs will present the 20th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship Breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 20, in the Corbett Center Ballrooms.
The keynote address, "From Light to Darkness to the Brightest of Lights," will be given by John Lucas, former NBA player and coach. Tickets are $15 and must be purchased in advance. For more information call (505) 646-4208.


JAZZ ALL-STATE CONCERTS TO BE HELD AT NMSU
The New Mexico Chapter of the International Association of Jazz Educators will hold jazz all-state concerts at noon Sunday, Jan. 22, at the New Mexico State University Music Center Recital Hall. For more information call (505) 646-1420.


UNIVERSITY MUSEUM PRESENTS "JEWISH PIONEERS OF NEW MEXICO"
The New Mexico State University Museum will open the exhibit "Jewish Pioneers of New Mexico" Tuesday, Jan. 24.

With rare vintage photographs and narrative text, the exhibit will chronicle Jewish immigrants to New Mexico during the early 1800s who established themselves as merchants, bankers, miners, ranchers and even a Jewish governor of Acoma Pueblo.

FICTION WRITER TO READ JAN. 27 AT NMSU
La Sociedad para las Artes at New Mexico State University will host a free reading by fiction writer Keith Lee Morris at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, in NMSU's Hardman Hall Room 106.

Morris will read from his recently published first novel, "The Greyhound God," and his story collection "Three or Four Hills and a Cloud." His work also has been published in literary journals including The Sun, Georgia Review, New Orleans Review and Puerto Del Sol.

ALL-STATE YOUTH CHOIRS TO PERFORM AT NMSU
The New Mexico All-State Youth Choirs will perform at New Mexico State University's Music Center Recital Hall Saturday, Jan. 28.

The all-state elementary choir will perform at 10 a.m., and the all-state junior high and middle school choir will perform at 11 a.m.

DONA ANA LYRIC OPERA TO HOLD ANNUAL ARIA-THON
