New Mexico State University student receives George E. Briggs Award

New Mexico State University's Psychology Department has awarded the George E. Briggs Outstanding Senior Award to Lauren Berlin. This award is given each year in memory of the late George E. Briggs, former psychology department head.

of Temecula, Calif., a Crimson Scholar double majoring in psychology and communication studies, graduated this month. She is a four-year member of the New Mexico State swim team and was named to the academic all-conference team from 1999 to 2002. She served on the New Mexico State Student Athlete Advisory Committee and was a charter member and vice president of the university's chapter of the National Society for Collegiate Scholars. A member of the Golden Key National Honor Society, she is listed in Who's Who Among American College and University Students for 2001-2002.
