Sunland Park to host meeting on environmental issues

In cooperation with the New Mexico Environment Department, New Mexico State University and the office of the mayor of Sunland Park will sponsor a meeting on environmental issues beginning at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5, in the parish hall of San Martin de Porres Church in Sunland Park.


uben Segura will discuss the city's new recycling program and representatives of the Environment Department will discuss water quality, the drought and air pollution problems in the Sunland Park area, said Erin Ward, director of border environmental programs for New Mexico State's College of Business.

Ward said the meeting is part of a series of presentations on U.S.-Mexico border environmental topics cosponsored by New Mexico State and the NMED.
