Magazine names NMSU among best universities for Hispanics

Another national magazine has recognized New Mexico State University as one of the nation's best colleges and universities for Hispanic students.

The "Hispanic Outlook Top 100" colleges and universities are featured in the April 23 issue of The Hispanic Outlook in Higher Education. NMSU ranked 19th nationally in the number of bachelor's degrees awarded to Hispanic students, 19th in the number of master's degrees and 14th in the number of doctorates.

NMSU ranked among the top 10 in the number of bachelor's degrees awarded to Hispanic students in five academic areas: agriculture, business and marketing, computer science, engineering and engineering technology, and home economics.

The magazine's Top 100 list is based on data from the U.S. Department of Education's Center for Education Statistics.

In March, NMSU was featured by Hispanic Magazine as one of the Top 25 Colleges and Universities for Hispanics.
