Web-based degree audit system available to NMSU students

A new Web-based service allows New Mexico State University students to run online degree checks on academic programs.

dent Academic Requirements (STAR) degree audit compares a student's course work with the requirements of a specified academic program.

Programs from the colleges of Agriculture and Home Economics, Arts and Sciences, Business Administration and Economics and NMSU's four branch campuses are online now. The remaining programs will be available once testing is completed at department, college and campus levels.

The goals of the new degree audit system are to allow NMSU students to easily view information about academic programs and their progress in any of the programs available, improve student retention and facilitate advising and certification processes.

NMSU students can access the STAR system by visiting http://www.nmsu.edu/online. Faculty and staff who would like to access the system should contact their department head for more information.

For more information about the STAR system, contact Julie Gabriel, NMSU Registrar's Office, at 505-646-6350 or at jgabriel@nmsu.edu.
