NMSU and community team up to sponsor Aggie Day April 1

New Mexico State University invites students and the community to enjoy music, games, food and other surprises at this year's Aggie Day celebration from 1:30 to 10 p.m. Saturday, April 1, in the parking lot east of the Pan American Center.

ay encourages unity among NMSU and the community. More than 150 student and community organizations will come together to inform the public, students, alumni, and prospective students about NMSU.

"It's important for the students as well as the community to show their support for NMSU," said Berrett Stradford, an Aggie Day organizer. "Aggie Day gives the entire community the chance to have fun times and win prizes."

Those who attend Aggie Day will have the opportunity to win iPods, $250 book stipends and other prizes.

Other activities include live music from bands, Not Yet Seven and Next to the Tracks, as well as games, a kids' zone and a display by the fire department.

A fireworks display at 7 p.m. will be followed by the annual Greek Sing.

The event is free to the community and students. Those interested in having a booth can still register for a fee until March 30.
