Archuleta elected president of NMSU Board of Regents

Adelmo "Del" Archuleta of Albuquerque, chief executive officer of Molzen-Corbin & Associates, an engineering and architectural firm with offices in Albuquerque, Las Cruces and Los Alamos, has been elected president of the New Mexico State University Board of Regents.

Archuleta was appointed to a six-year term on NMSU's governing board by Gov. Gary Johnson in 1997 and served as its vice president for the past two years. He is a graduate of NMSU, having earned his bachelor's degree in civil engineering in 1973 and his master's degree in civil engineering, with an emphasis on environmental engineering, in 1975.

Archuleta is an expert in analysis, planning, design, project coordination, contract administration and construction management in the water and wastewater engineering field.

Also at the board's March 26 meeting, Larry Sheffield of Las Cruces, a real estate developer who served as president for the past two years, was elected vice president, and John Van Sweden of Raton, president of the New Mexico Farm and Livestock Bureau, was elected secretary-treasurer. Their terms as officers are for one year.
