FICTION WRITER TO GIVE READING AT NMSU


writer and NMSU professor Antonya Nelson will read from her new book "Some Fun" at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 7, at NMSU's Hardman Hall Room 106. NMSU graduate student Brent Delanoy will read from his fiction thesis.

Nelson is NMSU's first recipient of the Louletia B. Valentine Fellowship. She is the author of eight books of fiction and has taught at NMSU for 17 years.

The reading is free and is sponsored by NMSU's La Sociedad Para Las Artes. For more information call (505) 646-2027.

The New Mexico State University Music Center Recital Hall will host the following events:

NMSU PROFESSOR TO GIVE PRESENTATION

New Mexico State University English professor Kevin McIlvoy will present "Engine and Enigma: A Learner's Journey" at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, in Science Hall Room 107 on the NMSU campus.

ROCK BAND ABSINTHE ACADEMY TO PERFORM AT NMSU

Rock band Absinthe Academy will perform at New Mexico State University at 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, in the Corbett Center Auditorium. The performance is part of the Union Program Council's Wednesday Night Live series.

Absinthe Academy is a rock band in the tradition of the Jimi Hendrix Experience, The Clash and The Police. Admission is free. For more information call (505) 646-3200.
