NMSU holds Children's Theater Workshop

Children dressed as lions, elephants, tigers and more filled the New Mexico State University Hershel Zohn Theatre during June for the annual Children's Theater Workshop.

Now in its 22nd year, the workshop gives children in elementary and middle school the chance to participate in a theatrical production. This year's performance was titled "African Tales" and told stories from Africa. The play also told stories that the children have created during the workshop.

Twenty-two children in grades 2-8 gathered each morning for three weeks to prepare themselves for the production. The workshop helped children develop skills in acting, teamwork and critical thinking.
