NMSU invites the community to celebrate Aggie Day April 9

New Mexico State University will celebrate its tradition of working with the Las Cruces community Saturday, April 9, from 3 to 10 p.m. with entertainment, food, prizes and other activities.


on of College Drive between Knox and Espina streets is the site for Aggie Day 2005, an event developed by the College of Agriculture and Home Economics Council and the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity to promote collaboration among students, campus organizations and the community.

"I would personally like to extend an invitation to the city of Las Cruces to see everything NMSU has to offer," said Sean Devine, Aggie Day 2005 executive committee chairman.

More than 140 booths will showcase NMSU organizations and will feature entertainment, raffles and information about the university.

Entertainment will include bands, singers, step performances and cultural performances. The annual Greek Sing competition will be held from 8 to 10 p.m. A fire truck and ambulance will be on display, as well as the Mobile Dairy Classroom, a portable cow-milking demonstration.

April 9 also is early registration for the fall 2005 semester, and Devine encourages future Aggies to attend the event along with the community.
