Green, a native of Las Cruces, has been in the accounting and business computer systems department since January 2004.

"Dr. Bobbie Green is an excellent teacher who relates very well with all of our students," said Garrey Carruthers, dean of the business college. "I count on Dr. Green to use her excellent skills in public relations and mentoring to continue the rapid growth and performance of our MBA program."

Green's goal as the new MBA director is to offer more flexibility in the program.

"One of the things that I've been working on is an exclusively online MBA program," she said. "Many of our competitors already have such programs, and I think it will benefit NMSU. It will be a great addition to the existing program."

Green also hopes to increase recruitment and retention within the program, and gain a diverse student population.

"I hope that students will see me as a role model and as someone that they can communicate with and relate to as they go through the program," she said.

NMSU's MBA program is now being offered at White Sands Missile Range and Los Alamos National Laboratories.

Green has a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Southern California and an MBA from City University in Seattle, Wash. She received her doctorate from Seattle University.

She replaces Wayne Headrick, who retired from the university during the summer.
