NMSU associate dean selected as Planner of the Year

Robert Czerniak, associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at New Mexico State University, has been selected as the 2005 Planner of the Year by the Western Planners Association. This is the first time a New Mexico planner has received the award.

Czerniak was selected for service, knowledge and dedication to the field of urban and regional planning. "I was very pleased to receive the award," he said. "It has been an honor to work with urban and town planners and elected officials throughout the state who are working to improve their communities."

Czerniak has been a professor of urban planning and geography at NMSU for 22 years. With the help of NMSU students, he has provided land use planning services to numerous communities in New Mexico.
