kickoff, producers found the perfect New Mexico guest: Gov. Bill Richardson.

Taped following Richardson's last day teaching a leadership course at the university, the show features a discussion of the upcoming New Mexico legislative session and what it means to the state's residents. The interview with the governor will air at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4 and will be repeated at 11 a.m. the following Sunday. The same schedule will be followed weekly with each guest.

Among the topics Richardson addresses are education, economic development and the U.S.-Mexico border. Early childhood education and development are a key focus for the year, the governor says. He also wants the state to take a look at the length of the school day.

Host and Executive Producer David Holly said the program is intended to provide viewers with an understanding of current economic issues provided by the individuals who deal directly with those issues. It will also provide information to those companies that might be interested in locating in Las Cruces. Future guests include NMSU President Michael V. Martin, Steve Vierck, head of the Mesilla Valley Economic Development Alliance and Las Cruces Mayor William Mattiace.

Holly, also the corporate fundraiser for KRWG-TV, said that while the program is not focusing on "gotchas," it will not shy away from discussion of provocative or controversial issues.
