NMSU hosts 2005 High School Journalism Workshop

New Mexico State University and the New Mexico Press Association are sponsoring the 25th Annual High School Journalism Workshop May 31 through June 3 on the NMSU campus.

workshop, students will receive newspaper journalism training in reporting, photography and editing from NMSU faculty, high school journalism teachers and newspaper professionals. Additionally, the students will create a 16-page newspaper called "The Future Press."

The NMPA designed the workshop to encourage high school students to pursue a career in print journalism and to encourage them to work with newspapers in the state.

"It is very successful in providing a fantastic experience for those interested in print journalism," said Shelley Ratner, executive director of the NMPA.
