New Mexico State University events scheduled for July

NMSU OFFERS SWIMMING CLASSES


Children from 6 months to 17 years old can take part in swim classes at the New Mexico State University Natatorium. The NMSU swim school offers morning and afternoon classes. For more information call (505) 646-3518.


NMSU SUMMER RECREATION SPORTS CAMPS SCHEDULED

Two New Mexico State University Recreation Sports Camps will be held for children 5 to 12 years old to develop skills in swimming, basketball, track and field, climbing, dance, soccer, disc golf, volleyball, football and tennis. Camps will be held Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 1-20 and July 18-29. For more information call (505) 646-4060.


UNION PROGRAM COUNCIL PRESENTS SUMMER MOVIE SERIES

New Mexico State University 's Union Program Council is offering free family movies every week in July at the Corbett Center Student Club and the Corbett Center Outdoor Stage. Movies featured include "A Cinderella Story," "Beach Blanket Bingo," "Battlestar Galactica," "Grease" and "Princess Diaries." For movie times and dates, call (505) 646-3200.


UNIVERSITY MUSEUM OFFERS FAMILY WORKSHOPS

The New Mexico State University Museum will offer four Saturday Family Workshops during July, giving families opportunities to participate in arts and crafts activities and view current exhibits. "Mini Mobiles" is the theme for the July 9 workshop, "Dancing Animals" will be held July 16, "Hand Print Sunshine" is July 23 and "Animal Masks" will be held July 30.

Workshops are from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Participation is free and supplies will be provided. For more information call (505) 646-3739.


NIKE JUNIOR GOLF CAMP TO BE HELD

A Nike Junior Golf Camp will be held at New Mexico State University July 10-15 for players ages 9 to 18 to hone their golf skills. For more information call (505) 646-7686.


STATE 4-H CONFERENCE IS JULY 11-15

More than 400 students from New Mexico will meet on the New Mexico State University for the state 4-H conference. They will compete in a variety of contests ranging from livestock judging and archery to marksmanship and consumer products ratings. The festivities will include a dance. ANNUAL JORNADA SYMPOSIUM IS JULY 14

The 15th Annual Jornada Symposium will be held July 14 at Wooton Hall on the New Mexico State University campus. Fifteen talks on research projects in the Chihuahuan Desert region will be presented, followed by a social and barbecue dinner at the Jornada Experimental Range. For more information,

AGGIE VOLLEYBALL CAMPS TO BE HELD

Three Aggie Volleyball Camps will be held at the Pan American Center at New Mexico State University Camp during July. The Setter Camp is July 23 and 24, and NMSU assistant coaches and current Aggie players will instruct in small groups. The Team Camp is July 25 through July 27, and will focus on developing overall team skills. The All Skills Camp is July 28 through July 31, and will focus on all volleyball skills in a fun and energetic environment. For more information call (505) 646-2368.
