NMSU massed choirs present season's final performance

The massed choirs at New Mexico State University will conclude the 2004-2005 season with Bach's "Mass in B Minor" Friday, April 22 and Saturday, April 23 at 8 p.m. in the Music Center Recital Hall on the NMSU campus.


ie Schweigart, associate concertmaster of the Las Cruces Symphony, has formed the orchestra for the performances. She is the principal second violin of the El Paso Symphony.

Guest soloists include Gina Ruebush, Silver City, N.M.; Juline Barol-Gilmore, Las Vegas, Nev.; and Alex Richardson, Las Cruces.
Ruebush, a soprano, has been a featured soloist of the Las Cruces Symphony Orchestra, the Manhattan Opera Troupe and the International Academy of Rome.

Barol-Gilmore, a mezzo soprano, has performed in the Las Vegas Music Festival, with the Omaha Symphony and the Las Vegas Desert Chorale. She recently performed in Mark Medoff's debut opera, "Sara McKinnon."

Richardson, a tenor who now lives in New York City, also has performed in "Sara McKinnon." This summer he will play the role of Rodolfo in the Bronx Opera's "La Boheme" and will complete his second apprenticeship with the Santa Fe Opera.

Philip Christiansen, NMSU voice professor, also will contribute to the performance.
