UNIVERSITY MUSEUM EXHIBITS


Mexico State University Museum is presenting two exhibits, "La Herencia" and "Southwest Memories: Family Auto Touring in the 1950s," through Aug. 13.

"La Herencia" is a photographic display of La Herencia magazine covers. La Herencia is New Mexico's most widely read Hispanic journal, with articles written by local historians from New Mexico and the Southwest.

"Southwest Memories" features images of families traveling through the Southwest during the 1950s. Personal artifacts and clothing popular during the 1950s also are on display.

The museum also will offer a Saturday Family Workshop from 2 to 3:30 p.m. May 7. Participants will make Mother's Day flowers. Workshops are free and supplies are provided.

NMSU THEATER PRESENTS "MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM"
New Mexico State University's Department of Theatre Arts and the American Southwest Theater Company (ASTC) presents William Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" through May 1 at the Hershel Zohn Theater.

In the comedy, Hermia and her lover, Lysander, flee into the woods at night to escape an arranged marriage by her father. They are pursued by the rival lover, Demetrius, who is pursued into the woods by Helena, a woman madly in love with him. There, the young lovers encounter Puck, a magical spirit of the woods whose love potion creates comic chaos.

MUSIC CENTER TO HOST EVENTS
The New Mexico State University Music Center will host the Las Cruces Symphony with violinist Chee-Yun at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 30, and at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 1. For more information call (505) 646-3709.
