NMSU MUSIC CENTER TO HOST ALL-STATE PREP CLINIC

CORBETT CENTER ART GALLERY TO PRESENT STUDENT EXHIBIT
The Corbett Center Art Gallery at New Mexico State University will exhibit the paintings of NMSU student Danielle Deemer from Sept. 9 through Oct. 4. The exhibition opens with a reception from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 9.

NMSU DANCE GROUP TO PERFORM IN FLAMENCO CONCERT
Sol y Arena, a performing company of NMSU's dance program, will perform in a flamenco dance concert at 7 p.m. Sept. 9 and 10 at the New Mexico Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum.

The performance will feature guitarist Jacob Mossman, who will be teaching flamenco and classical guitar and technique at NMSU-Dona Ana.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students and senior citizens. For more information call (505) 646-2070.

NMSU DANCE PROGRAM TO HOLD HIGH SCHOOL DANCE DAY SEPT. 10
The New Mexico State University Dance Program will offer a full day of dance classes for high school students from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10.

Classes will include ballet, modern, ballet folklorico, ballroom dancing, jazz, flamenco, hip-hop and tap. Auditions will be held during these classes for high school seniors who are interested in a major or minor in dance.

LA SOCIEDAD PARA LAS ARTES TO PRESENT POETRY READING
Internationally acclaimed Chinese poet Bei Dao will give a bilingual poetry reading at New Mexico State University at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, in Hardman Hall Room 106.

Dao's poetry explores both public and private themes often embedded with political references. He has been nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature.

The reading is sponsored by NMSU's La Sociedad Para Las Artes, Zephyr Press and the Witter Bynner Foundation of Poetry of Santa Fe. For more information call (505) 646-2027.

NMSU ART GALLERY EXHIBITS WOODMAN PHOTOGRAPHY
The premiere showing of artist Donald Woodman's new photographic series, "The Therapist," has opened at the New Mexico State University Art Gallery in the D.W. Williams Art Center.

The exhibition, which runs through Oct. 8, includes an overview of Woodman's photography from the past 20 years. For more information call (505) 646-2545.

UNIVERSITY MUSEUM PRESENTS TWO EXHIBITS
The New Mexico State University Museum is presenting two exhibits, "La Herencia" and "Southwest Memories: Family Auto Touring in the 1950s," through Dec. 15.

"La Herencia" depicts a variety of covers from La Herencia magazine, New Mexico's most widely read Hispanic journal. "Southwest Memories" features images of families traveling through the Southwest during the 1950s. Personal artifacts and clothing popular during the 1950s will be on display.
