NMSU Labor Management Relations Board members reappointed

New Mexico State University Board of Regents President Bob Gallagher has reappointed all three members of the NMSU Labor Management Relations Board. Gerald M. Burke, Charlie E. Apodaca and Karen Becklin were appointed to new one-year terms.

Burke, the management representative on the three-member board, is a retired NMSU vice president, former member of the New Mexico Commission on Higher Education, and president emeritus of the New Mexico Educational Assistance Foundation.

Apodaca, the labor representative on the board, worked at NASA's White Sands Test Facility for 32 years and was active within the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, AFL-CIO, Local Lodge 2515, until his retirement in 2001.

Becklin, appointed on the recommendation of the other two appointees, served as director of outcomes assessment and then director of planning for NMSU from 1990 until she retired in 2001. In 1992-93, on loan from NMSU, she served as interim director of the state Commission on Higher Education.

The Labor Management Relations Board establishes procedures and adjudicates complaints by NMSU employees.
