NMSU campus observatory to hold open house Oct. 7

New Mexico State University's Department of Astronomy will hold an open house at the campus observatory at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7.

permitting, participants will observe the moon, the Lagoon nebula, the Ring nebula, the globular clusters M15 and M32, and the Andromeda galaxy. Astronomy personnel on hand will be faculty member Anatoly Klypin and graduate students Steven Nelli, Joe Helmboldt and Jillian Bornak.

The observatory is located off of Williams Avenue, between Stewart Street and Wells Street. Admission is free and children are welcome. The domes are not heated, so dress accordingly.
