LAS CRUCES SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA TO PERFORM NOV. 5 AND 6


Cruces Symphony Orchestra will perform Classics Two concerts at 8 p.m. Nov. 5 and at 3 p.m. Nov. 6, in the New Mexico State University Music Center Recital Hall. The performances will feature guest pianist Maurizio Moretti.

UNIVERSITY MUSEUM TO PRESENT PERMANENT POTTERY EXHIBIT
The New Mexico State University Museum will host a free opening reception and public lecture at 6 p.m. Nov. 10 for its new permanent exhibit, "Pottery from the Americas."

The lecture will be given at 7 p.m. by archaeologist and ceramics expert Patrick Lyons. The lecture is titled "Recent Research on the Salado Phenomenon: Changing Perspectives Based on the Analysis of Existing Museum Collections."

LA SOCIEDAD PARA LAS ARTES TO PRESENT READING
Fiction writer Laura Kasischke will give a free reading at New Mexico State University at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 11 in Hardman Hall Room 106.

Kasischke has published three novels and is working on a new novel, "Boy Heaven." She has received two fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, Pushcart prizes and the Alice Fay DiCastagnola Award from the Poetry Society of America.

NMSU TO PRESENT ADAPTATION OF "A CHRISTMAS CAROL"
A special adaptation of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" will be presented by New Mexico State University's Department of Theatre Arts and the American Southwest Theatre Company (ASTC) Nov. 18 through Dec. 4 at NMSU's Hershel Zohn Theatre.

The heartwarming tale of Ebenezer Scrooge's redemption will be told with an NMSU twist, including four original songs and two dances, mask work and puppetry, and snow on stage.
