NMSU's Career Expo seeks interested employers

New Mexico State University's Placement and Career Services is seeking employers from all over the nation to participate in the 22nd Annual Career Expo, an event that gives employers the opportunity to meet with students interested in networking and broadening their career choices.

eer Expo will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 19, and Wednesday, Sept. 20, in the Ballrooms on the third floor of NMSU's Corbett Center.

"The quality of our students as well as their flexibility and mobility makes them good candidates for employers," said Roseanne Bensley, assistant director of Placement and Career Services. "Employers are extremely pleased with the work experience NMSU students gain from cooperative education, internships, part-time, summer, and volunteer experiences. This makes our students ready to enter the work force trained for their new positions."

The Expo is co-sponsored by the College of Engineering and Placement and Career Services. On Sept. 19, the Expo will focus on students majoring in agriculture, business, health, arts and sciences. The following day will focus on students entering engineering, sciences and technology fields.

During the Career Expo, employers also will have the opportunity to discuss internships, cooperative education positions (co-ops) and professional employment.

In the past the Expo has had more than 100 employers participate and more than 2,300 candidates, making it the largest career fair in New Mexico and west Texas.

For more information on becoming involved in NMSU's Career Expo, contact Bensley, Career Expo coordinator, at (505) 646-1631 or rbensley@nmsu.edu.
