High school juniors and seniors invited to attend Spring Visitors' Day

High school juniors and seniors interested in New Mexico State University are invited to Spring Visitors' Day on Monday, Feb. 19, on the main campus in Las Cruces.

Spring Visitors' Day will give high school students and their parents an opportunity to get an overview of the university and what campus life is like.

"This is a chance for high school students to look at the university and explore its many programs," said Matt Hulett, associate director of admissions. "They'll be able to see why this university is a great place."

The event will begin at 8 a.m. at the Pan Am Center with check-in as well as a continental breakfast until 9 a.m. There also will be a performance by the NMSU Pep Band, Sundancers and Cheerleaders at 8:15 a.m.

The visiting high school students will select an academic program of their choice that they are interested in. Visitors will be broken up into groups according to their program choice from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. to learn more about their program at Corbett Center Student Union.

Financial aid presentations will be given in the CCSU second level auditorium at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

There will be an information fair throughout CCSU from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. as well as on-site admissions. Campus tours will be held every 30 minutes starting on the CCSU second floor. Residence hall tours will be held every 30 minutes starting at each residence hall's front desk.

"For some of the students this will be a first-time experience for them on a university campus. This will provide them with answers and information in order to make a good decision about college," Hulett said.
