"Aggie Experience" available to New Mexico seniors

New Mexico high school seniors interested in attending New Mexico State University are invited to the "Aggie Experience" Saturday, Oct. 12, on the main campus in Las Cruces.

program sponsored by the New Mexico State Admissions Office invites seniors to campus to experience the university. This Aggie Experience will include Homecoming festivities starting at 10 a.m. with the Homecoming "Decades of Tradition" Parade.

"High School students really don't realize the treasures available to them here without seeing for themselves," said Angela Mora-Riley, director of admissions.

Students attending the one-day event will be able to participate in featured academic showcases and learn more about New Mexico State's student life, admissions procedures and financial aid. Student services and organizations will provide information at a student union fair and campus and residence hall tours will be part of the experience.

Seniors also will be treated to a free buffet dinner in the Taos Grand Buffet and a complimentary ticket to the 6 p.m. New Mexico State homecoming football game as the Aggies take on the University of Louisiana-Lafayette Rajin' Cajuns.

Following the football game the students can attend a dance in the Corbett Center Student Club or grab some popcorn and take in a movie at the Corbett Center Auditorium.

Guest housing will be available at university dorms through the Department of Housing Services. Seniors planning to stay on campus must have an adult sponsor. A $10 fee will be charged for each person staying in the dorms. To make the required reservations, call (505) 646-3202.
