Traders Plaza of Honor Courtyard to be dedicated

New Mexico State University's Traders Plaza of Honor Courtyard will be dedicated at a ceremony from 2:15 to 2:45 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, on the College of Business Administration and Economics Plaza.

rnold, dean of the College of Business Administration and Economics, will speak at the dedication ceremony, which will take place at the south side of the Business Complex.

The south side of the entrance to the business complex will display bricks that have been purchased through the Brick Campaign, which supports scholarships, assistantships, student loans, computer equipment and student, faculty and staff development for the business college.

"The Traders" statue depicts early commerce during New Mexico's territorial days and has come to be considered the symbol of New Mexico State's business college. The three figures in the statue are Native American, Hispanic and Anglo traders examining items of trade spread out on a beaver skin on the ground.

The Traders Plaza of Honor Courtyard was established to serve as a permanent place to recognize students, friends and supporters of the college.
