Willoughby L. Nason Scholarship offered at New Mexico State

The Willoughby L. Nason Scholarship is being offered by the Nason Foundation to New Mexico State University students whose course of study indicates an interest in Latin America or Latin American studies.

olarship will be awarded for up to $500 to one or two graduate or undergraduate students. To be eligible a student must be a junior or senior with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 or a graduate student with a GPA of at least 3.5. Fields of work relating to Latin America may include anthropology, art history, dance, political science, history, health or other related fields.

This scholarship is awarded in the memory of Willoughby L. Nason, who was a graduate student of Latin American history at New Mexico State who died unexpectedly at the age of 33 in 1979. His family donated money to establish the Nason House, which is the home for the Center of Latin American Studies at New Mexico State. The house was previously the home of the university's president and also contains the library of Nason's father, Charles.
