NM Space Grant ranks eighth nationally

The New Mexico Space Grant Consortium (NMSGC), based at New Mexico State University, has been awarded a five-year, $2,375,000 renewal by NASA. NMSGC was ranked eighth out of 52 Space Grant programs nationally in the grant review process. NASA reviewers looked at 10 years of NMSGC research, education and public service programs in determining the rankings.

NMSGC is a statewide program with 25 partner institutions. NMSU is the lead institution for Space Grant in New Mexico, and the offices are housed in NMSU's College of Engineering.

NMSGC activities include scholarship programs; the research enhancement program to help fund student, faculty and staff research and education projects; the high school rocket launch program; and course development.
