NMSU PUBIC HISTORY PROGRAM TO LAUNCH NEW BOOK SERIES


The Public History Program at New Mexico State University is seeking submissions for a new book series it is launching with Sunstone Press in Santa Fe.

The New Mexico Centennial History Series will solicit books written by New Mexico residents about their communities and the people who live in them. The series celebrates the centennial of New Mexico's statehood, which will be in 2012.

NMSU TO PROVIDE EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES AT CAREER EXPO

New Mexico State University's Career Services and the College of Engineering will present the 2007 Career Expo from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, and Wednesday, Sept. 19, in the Corbett Center Student Union Ballrooms.

Nearly 200 employers are expected to be present at the expo. On Tuesday the expo will feature employers in the fields of business, agriculture and liberal arts and sciences. Wednesday the expo will include employers in the fields of engineering, science and technology.

The expo is open to college students throughout the region as well as the general public.

Steven Castillo, dean of the College of Engineering, said employers have a long history of hiring NMSU graduates. "Our engineering students often have four or five job offers when they graduate," Castillo said.
