ASTC MARDI GRAS FUNDRAISER


The American Southwest Theatre Company brings New Orleans spirit to life with their Mardi Gras Gala that will be held Friday, Feb. 6, from 7-11 p.m. at the New Mexico State University Golf Course Banquet Room.

The fundraiser includes a dance featuring Cajun and contemporary music along with appetizers, desserts and drinks as they recreate the French Quarter here in Las Cruces.

NMSU BOOKSTORE "KISS OFF" CONTEST

The NMSU Bookstore will host their "Kiss Off" contest Friday, Feb. 13, at noon inside the bookstore. Couples will compete by attempting to hold an iPod Touch between their lips and chins the longest. The winning couple will each win an 8Gb iPod Touch.

NMSU BOOKSTORE TO HOST AUTHOR SIGNINGS

The NMSU Bookstore will host NMSU associate professor of history, Margaret Malamud, who will sign her new book, "Ancient Rome and Modern America," Thursday, Feb. 12, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The bookstore also will host author Darren Court who will lecture on his new book, "White Sands Missile Range," Thursday, Feb. 5, from 1 to 3 p.m.
