ASTC to host Mardi Gras Gala fundraiser

The American Southwest Theatre Company will bring the spirit of New Orleans to life in Las Cruces when they host their Mardi Gras Gala Friday, Feb. 6, from 7 to 11 p.m. at the New Mexico State University Golf Course Banquet Room.

Guests can dance to Cajun and contemporary music and enjoy appetizers, desserts and drinks, as well as a wide variety of entertainment including a magician, fortune teller, Texas Hold-em, a live auction of art and jewelry by local artists and a King and Queen of Mardi Gras contest. Attendees are encouraged to take full participation and dress in Mardi Gras attire.

The American Southwest Theatre Company is a non-profit organization that works in conjunction with the NMSU Department of Theatre Arts. The gala fundraiser helps fund ASTC's programs including bringing guest artists to NMSU to work with students on productions throughout the year.

Tickets are $30 per person or two tickets for $55 and available at the Hershel Zohn Theatre on the NMSU campus, or by calling the ASTC box office at (575) 646-4515.
