Public forum at NMSU to discuss Spaceport America

The Physical Science Laboratory Leonard R. Sugerman Public Forum will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 23 at the New Mexico Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum in Las Cruces.

The forum, titled "Spaceport America: History, Progress and Next Steps," will discuss the history and current status of Spaceport America as well as the X-PRIZE Cup.

The forum will be moderated by Burton Lee, managing partner of Innovarium Ventures. Speakers will include Jay Jordan, associate vice president for Research, Graduate Studies and International Programs at NMSU; Bernie McCune of the Physical Science Laboratory; Mike Holsten or Procurement Solutions; Bill Gutman; and Pat Hynes, director of the New Mexico Space Grant Consortium and chair of the International Symposium for Personal Spaceflight. The half-day forum is free and open to the public. It will precede the International Symposium for Personal Spaceflight 2007, which will be held Oct. 24 and 25 at the New Mexico Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum.
