NMSU MUSEUM PRESENTS SATURDAY FAMILY WORKSHOP


The New Mexico State University Museum hosts family-oriented arts and crafts activities every Saturday from 2-3:30 p.m. through Dec. 8.

On Oct. 27, participants will make sugar skulls for part of Día de los Muertos celebations. The workshops are free, materials are provided, and no sign-up is necessary. For large groups, call ahead to ensure enough supplies for everyone.

NMSU THEATRE ARTS PRESENTS 'A WALK IN THE DESERT'

The New Mexico State University Department of Theatre Arts in collaboration with the American Southwest Theatre Company will present "A Walk in the Desert" Oct. 26 and 27 at the Hershel Zohn Theatre on the NMSU campus.

Written by NMSU Theatre Arts Department Head Ruth Cantrell, "A Walk in the Desert" tells the tale of a girl who learns about the beauty of the American Southwest through music and dance. It is choreographed by Debra Knapp, head of the NMSU Dance Program.

NMSU TO HOST PREMIERE OF NEW MUSICAL, "EXTINCTION: A LOVE STORY"

"Extinction," a love story about dinosaurs produced by Mark Medoff and the Dona Ana Lyric Opera, will run Oct. 25 through 28 at the New Mexico State University Music Center Recital Hall.

Written by Las Cruces artist Bob Diven, "Extinction" tells the tale of six paleontologists who make a staggering discovery that takes them back to the last days of the dinosaurs.
