First of Diversity Speaker Series lectures to be held at NMSU

Harold Bailey, executive director of the New Mexico Office of African American Affairs, will discuss "Diversity Within the Educational System" at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, in the New Mexico State University Milton Hall Auditorium

Bailey is a certified diversity trainer, former president of the Albuquerque NAACP and former National Council on Black Studies member.

This event is the first of three lectures in the Diversity Speaker Series.

"These presentations will be important to students due to the complex issues concerning race, class and gender in our contemporary society," said Festus Addo-Yobo, director of Black Programs at NMSU.

The Diversity Speaker Series is free and open to the public. This event is part of NMSU's continuing outreach efforts to help educate and improve the lives of the citizens of our community and state. For more information call (575) 646-4208.
