International Festival 2008 held at NMSU

WHERE: Corbett Center Student Union Ballrooms

The New Mexico State University International and Border Programs will host International Festival 2008 with 16 countries and clubs represented.

With more than 75 countries and 900 students making up the international population at NMSU, the festival will provide the local community with an opportunity to experience different cultures.

The festival will include displays of music, dancing, games, art, clothing, jewelry and photos from each participant's native country. There also will be native foods and beverages that can be purchased with a donation of 50 cents.

Participating countries and clubs include India, Mexico, Brazil, Muslim Student Association, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Japan, Europe, Colombia, South Korea, El Salvador, Belize, the Philippines, Vietnam, Australia and China. Also participating will be a mariachi group from Onate High School and New World Drummers, an African drumming group from Las Cruces.

The event is free and open to the public. It will be from noon to 4 p.m.
