NMSU MUSEUM HOSTS FAMILY WORKSHOP


The New Mexico State University Museum will host a children and family workshop, with craft projects that reflect a 1930s theme, Saturday, March 8, from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

Participants of the workshop, titled "Easter Baskets and Eggs," will paint Easter eggs and build their own Easter basket to take home.

The workshop is free and the materials are provided. Sign up is not required, but large groups should call ahead to make reservations. The University Museum is located at University Avenue and Solano Drive.

ONE MAN PERFORMANCE OF CESAR CHAVEZ TO BE HELD

The New Mexico State University Theatre Arts Department will partner with the Center for Latin American and Border Studies to present Fred Blanco one man act "Stories of Cesar Chavez" March 8 at 8 p.m. Performances will be at the NMSU Hershel Zohn Theatre.

Tickets are $7 and will be available at the theater.

CAREER SERVICES HOSTS EMPLOYMENT EXTRAVAGANZA

The New Mexico State University Career Services will host the Employment Extravaganza 2008 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 12 in the Corbett Center Student Union Ballrooms.

The event is designed to bring both NMSU students and employers from the state and region together. Students can distribute resumes and learn about current and future employment opportunities.

Some employers attending the extravaganza include NASA, the USDA Food Inspection Agency, Five Rivers Cattle Company, the City of Las Cruces Human Resources Department, New Mexico Personnel Department, USDA Food and Drug Administration and many others.

This is the last general career fair of the academic year. Freshmen through alumni from all areas are encouraged to attend. Students should dress in business casual and bring copies of resumes, as well as their NMSU ID card.

STUDENT EXHIBITION HOSTED AT NMSU ART GALLERY

The New Mexico State University Art Gallery's Student Exhibition, which opened March 7, will run through March 20.

Every year the art gallery hosts a student exhibition. Main campus students are encouraged to submit artwork. A juror decides which pieces make it into the exhibition and also which pieces receive awards.

Gallery hours are from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The gallery is located in D.W. Williams Art Center, University Avenue at Solano Drive. For more information call the gallery at (575) 646-2545.
