NMSU grieves the loss of one of its students

A New Mexico State University student, Liette Martinez, whose life was tragically ended on Friday, April 18, is being remembered as a dedicated and enthusiastic student, said Scott Moore, dean of students at NMSU.

"On behalf of our students, faculty and staff we offer our deepest and heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Liette Martinez," Moore said. "Among her many activities, Liette was involved in the NMSU graphics design student organization. The campus community grieves for the tragic and untimely loss of such and young and inspiring university family member. Our prayers are with all whose lives she touched."

Counseling staff are available to support our students during difficult times such as this. The NMSU counseling center is located in room 100 of the Garcia Annex, phone number 575-646-2731. Students are encouraged to schedule an appointment; however, staff is available for walk-in emergency assistance, Moore said.
