NMSU Grants will honor Outstanding Graduates

The New Mexico State University Alumni Association will honor the Spring 2008 NMSU Grants Outstanding Graduates during commencement May 9 in Grants.


Each semester the Alumni Association selects outstanding graduates based on outstanding scholarship, leadership and participation in university and community activities.

The Arts Division will honor Karla Hale of Milan, N.M., who will receive an associate's of arts degree. Hale has a 3.56 GPA and she has taught as a substitute at Los Alamitos Middle School in Grants.

The Applied Sciences Division will honor Stephen Russell of Grants, a computer technology major. Russell has a 3.35 GPA and has participated in the New Mexico Alliance for Minority Participation.

The General Studies Division will honor Dawn Spencer of Bluewater, N.M., a general studies major. Spencer has a 3.37 GPA, is president of the Phi Theta Kappa-Beta Eta Iota Chapter and coaches her daughter's soccer team.
