NMSU HOSTS SWIM SCHOOL


The New Mexico State University Swim School Session I will be held May 27 to June 12. Children ages 3-17 can take part in swim clsases at the NMSU Natatorium. Morning and afternoon classes will be offered.

BASKETBALL CAMP HELD AT NMSU

The 2008 Coach Menzies Basketball Camps with begin with Little Aggie Camp will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 27 to 31 for children in grades K-8. The camp stresses self-confidence, discipline, teamwork, ball handling and fun, while providing a head start on fundamentals. It is a non-competitive camp emphasizing each child's self-worth and improvement in all aspects of basketball. The cost is $160.

UPWARD BOUND HOSTS BRIDGE PROGRAM

Upward Bound's Bridge Program will be held May 29 to July 3. Eighteen recent high school graduates will take seven credit hours of college courses, participate in an internship and learn skills that will help make them successful in college, such as time management and study skills. The program is designed to help new freshmen make the transition or "bridge" from high school to college.

BLUEGRASS BAND FEATURES FORMER AND CURRENT NMSU FACULTY

The Salty Dogs, a bluegrass band featuring two former professors and a researcher from New Mexico State University, will perform at the Second Annual Bluegrass Festival at Rockhound State Park in Deming, N.M., May 23-25.

Tickets are available at the Peppers supermarket in Deming or at the gate. Tickets for Friday's events are $4 in advance and $5 at the gate. For Saturday's events tickets are $7 in advance and $8 at the gate. Tickets for both days are $10 in advance and $12 at the gate. Children under 12 are admitted free and there is no charge for Sunday's events.
