NMSU HOSTS SWIM SCHOOL


The New Mexico State University Swim School Session II will be held June 16-July 3. Children ages three to 17 can take part in swim classes at the NMSU Natatorium. Morning and afternoon classes will be offered.

GIRLS' BASKETBALL CAMP AT NMSU

The Darin Spence Girls' Basketball Camp will hold a Team Camp for junior varsity and varsity teams June 20-22.

The head coach must send in all the applications together, as well as a team roster. The cost is $400 per team.

BAND CAMP HELD AT NMSU

The Las Cruces Middle School Band Camp will take place June 16-20 on the New Mexico State University campus.

More than 350 middle school band students will meet to get acquainted with the band and band instruments. This camp is open to students who have never played an instrument and to experienced students who would like to continue exploring their instrument or receive instruction on a second instrument.

2008 SUMMER SPORTS CAMP AT NMSU

The Sports Camp 2008 will begin its first of three sessions June 16-27 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Camp programs for children five to eight years old will be based on developing fundamental gross and fine motor skills that set the stage for success in sports performance later in life. Lead-up games and activities in traditional and non-traditional physical activities will be the primary focus.

Campers ages nine to 14 years old will experience developmental instruction in softball, volleyball, badminton, canoeing and cooperative games. The structure is based on the NASPE guidelines that professional instructors in children's sports and physical activities follow in an educational and recreational setting.

The cost for Session I is $200.

NMSU DANCE HOSTS DANCE ALIVE SUMMER FEST 2008

The New Mexico State University Dance program will host the Dance Alive Summer Fest 2008 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 16-20 in the NMSU Activities Center.

A Student Showcase will be held at 5:30 p.m. June 20 on the NMSU Activities Center first floor for students to show their projects and performances to their parents.

Cost is $110 per student, $20 off if you bring a friend. Space is limited to the first 50 students registered.
