NMSU groups to host reading event and dance workshop for area families

"Tea Time with Dr. Seuss" will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, at the Isabel M. Crouch Reader's Theatre on the New Mexico State University campus.

Scott Drayer as Cat in the HatLissette Pimentel as The Amazing MayzieThe event is sponsored by the American Southwest Theatre company, in association with NMSU Theatre Arts and the Dona Ana Lyric Opera to coincide with their holiday production "Seussical," which runs Nov. 17 through Dec. 3.

Characters from the NMSU production "Seussical" will interact with event participants through reading stories and teaching dance steps from the show. Beverages and cupcakes will be served.

"This is a wonderful way for families to spend time together," said Tom Smith, ASTC producing artistic director.

Admission is $5 per person and participants are encouraged to dress up or dress in costume. Doors will open at 3:45 p.m. The event ends at 5 p.m.
