SIGN UP FOR FALL AUDITIONS


Sign up for audition slots for the New Mexico State University Department of Theatre Arts and the American Southwest Company (ASTC) fall 2008 productions will be held Aug 18-22 on the callboard in the Hershel Zohn Theatre lobby.

Men and women ages 18-70 are needed. Auditions will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 23 in the theater.

AGGIE WELCOME WEEK AND INSTRUCTION BEGINS

New Mexico State University will hold an Aggie Welcome Week for the 2008 fall semester Aug. 17-22.

The week will kick off with a move-in day for student housing residents. Instruction will then begin Aug. 21. Several events will take place including movie nights and a dance.

CORBETT CENTER HOLDS AGGIE GAME NIGHT

All New Mexico State University students are encouraged to attend the Aggie Game Night 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. Aug. 17 throughout the Corbett Center Student Union.

Various games and activities will take place including a putting green on the third floor, Billiards at Pete's Place, American Idol in Taos, a money booth on the second floor, Texas Hold'em and dodge/trench ball in the ballrooms. Java City will be open and will provide free product samples during the event. Campus Dining will provide free pizza around 10 p.m.

NMSU HOLDS CHILE FIELD DAY

The Extension Plant Sciences Department at New Mexico State University will host a Chile Field Day at the Leyendecker Plant Science Research Center from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Aug. 19.

The Chile Field Day will showcase ongoing research developments in pest and disease control, enhancement of chile production and chile breeding updates.

To get to Leyendecker Plant Science Research Center take University Avenue to Highway 28 (Avenida de Mesilla), turn left onto Highway 28 and head south. Proceed to Snow Road (about 4.5 miles), then turn left on Snow Road. Follow the canal and proceed 1.3 miles. Turn right onto Leyendecker Road (dirt) and proceed to the end of the dirt road/ditch. Turn left and proceed to the main office at 7200 Plant Science Circle.
