Children's Theatre Workshop has open spaces

The New Mexico State University's Theatre Arts Department 25th Children's Theatre Workshop, which will begin Sept. 8 at the Hershel Zohn Theatre and will run until the second week of May, still has open spaces for interested children.

Under the direction of theater professor Ruth Cantrell, this year's after-school workshop will be filled with laughter as all classes focus on comedy.

Students in grades 1-3 will explore ancient Rome and the antics of Roman comedy from 4 to 5:30 p.m. starting Sept. 8. Students in grades 4-8 will explore the world of Commedia del Arte and its hosts of stock characters like Harlequin and Pantelone from 4 to 5 p.m. starting Sept. 10.

Cost of the program is $270 or $30 per month.
