NMSU DANCE PROGRAM HOLDS HOLIDAY DANCE PERFORMACE


The New Mexico State University Dance Program will hold "Tis the Season," dances to celebrate the Holiday spirit, at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, at the Rio Grande Theatre.

NMSU THEATER PRESENTS 'CINDERELLA'

The American Southwest Theatre Company at New Mexico State University Theatre Arts will present "Cinderella" Nov. 20-Dec. 7 at the Hershel Zohn Theatre.

The classic fairy tale about a poor girl, a handsome prince and a glass slipper is fun for the whole family.

Audience members are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to give to Toys for Tots. Last year's toy drive helped nearly 4,000 children in the area.

LAS CRUCES SYMPHONY COMES TO NMSU

New Mexico State University will host the Las Cruces Symphony at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, at the Music Center Recital Hall.

NMSU CHOIRS SHOWCASE 'CHRISTMAS CAROLS'

The New Mexico State University Concert Choir and Gospel Choir will hold a recital titled "Christmas Carols" at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9 at the Rio Grande Theatre.

NMSU GALLERY HOLDS WARHOL EXHIBITION

An exhibition titled "Andy Warhol's Fifteen Minutes at New Mexico State University" runs at the NMSU Art Gallery through Dec. 23.

The gallery is exhibiting 28 of Andy Warhol's original photographs with examples portraying both color Polaroid images and black and white silver gelatin prints. This work reflects his interest in celebrities, New York and other items of "pop" culture.

This is the first time these particular photographs are being exhibited. The gallery is located at D.W. Williams Hall, Solano Drive at University Avenue in Las Cruces.

NMSU BOOKSTORE HOSTS TWO BOOK SIGNINGS

The New Mexico State University Bookstore will host authors Daniel Chacon at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, and Frank Carden at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, at the University Bookstore located in the Corbett Center Student Union.

Chacon will sign his new book "Unending Rooms."

Carden, who also is a retired NMSU professor, will sign his new book "The Prostitutes of Post Office Street."

NMSU MUSEUM HOSTS HOLIDAY AUCTION

The New Mexico State University Museum will host the Holiday Global Bazaar and Silent Auction from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, in Kent Hall to support the Friends of the University Museum.

The global themed silent auction will feature a variety of goods, including handbags, jewelry, toys, clothes and home décor from 15 different countries.

NMSU MUSEUM EXHIBITS WILL CLOSE SOON

The last day to view the New Mexico State University Museum exhibitions "Pueblo Traditions: Historic Moments in Work and Art" and "From Above: Images of a Storied Land" will be from noon to 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12.

The University Museum is located in Kent Hall.

MFA THESIS EXHIBITION AT ART GALLERY

The New Mexico State University Art Gallery will host an exhibition by Elizabeth Hillman, candidate for a master's in fine arts, at D.W. Williams Hall, Solano Drive at University Avenue in Las Cruces through Tuesday, Dec. 23.
