College of Education Alliance will hold quarterly meeting

To share current and upcoming projects with its program members and representatives from participating school districts and agencies, New Mexico State University's Alliance for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning will hold a fall meeting from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, at the Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum.

The Alliance is a College of Education organization and program, which receives legislative funding in order to provide outreach, training, professional development and resources for participating New Mexico school districts and other agencies with education initiatives.

"This meeting will be a great opportunity for the Alliance to share some of our current projects," said Eric Lopez, the Stan Fulton Endowed Chair for the Improvement of Border and Rural Schools. "We also will be announcing upcoming conferences, trainings and professional development and research opportunities."

The fall meeting is one of the Alliance's quarterly meetings and will provide a chance to introduce and welcome new members, highlight projects funded by the legislative funding, provide information regarding ongoing and upcoming initiatives that are taking place across New Mexico and announce that the organization is now a member of the New Mexico Coalition of School Administrators, which Lopez said will provide the Alliance more representation at the state level.

For more information, contact Michelle Saenz, the Alliance program coordinator, at (575) 646-1348.
