NMSU HOLDS CAREER EXPO


The 24th Annual Career Expo, cosponsored by the College of Engineering and career services, will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 16-17 in the Corbett Center Student Union third floor ballrooms.

Business, agriculture and liberal arts majors are encouraged to attend Sept. 16, while engineering, science and technology majors are encouraged to attend Sept. 17.

This is the largest career fair in New Mexico and West Texas and is an excellent opportunity for candidates of all academic classifications to network with employers in different career fields.

ACCLAIMED PIANIST PERFORMS AT NMSU

Acclaimed pianist Willis Delony will perform a combination jazz and classical recital at the New Mexico State University Music Center Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19.

Delony has appeared as a soloist and conductor with orchestras nationally and abroad, earning national and international acclaim as a jazz and classical pianist, conductor, chamber player, commercial composer and arranger. His international solo appearances have included recitals in France, Germany, Switzerland, Mexico and the former Soviet Union.

Tickets may be purchased at the Pan American Center ticket office, all Ticketmaster outlets or at the door. The cost is $8 for general admission and $5 for students and seniors.

READING HELD ON CAMPUS

The New Mexico State University Bookstore will host author Ana Castillo at 7 p.m. Sept. 16 in the Corbett Center Student Union.

Castillo will conduct a reading and signing for her book "The Guardian." This event is part of the Centennial Speaker Series and partnered with Chicano Programs, in honor of National Hispanic Heritage month.

NMSU DANCE ALUMNI HOLD CONCERT

The New Mexico State University Dance Department will host "State of the Nation," a dance alumni and SD Production concert, at 7 p.m. Sept. 13 and at 2 p.m. Sept. 14 at the New Mexico Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum.

The evening will address various issues affecting Americans and their decisions in November.

Tickets will cost $8 for students and $10 for adults.

NMSU HOSTS FLUTE FUSION

The New Mexico State University Department of Music will hold Flute Fusion, an educational outreach program to provide quality clinics in a one day setting for flutists ranging from beginning to college/adult players, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 13 at the Music Center Recital Hall.

Lisa Van Winkle, flute instructor and coordinator of the music business program, will conduct the event.
