Public invited to comment on design of Arts Complex

Residents of Las Cruces and the surrounding communities are invited to attend a presentation by Holzman Moss Architects of New York on the Phase 1 schematic design of NMSU's Arts Complex. Attendees will have an opportunity to comment on the proposed design.

Phase 1 of the Arts Complex will include a state-of-the-art sustainable building approximately 50,000 square feet. There will be a performance space for drama and dance, performance support areas, public spaces, classrooms, offices and building support areas. Funding for Phase 1 of the Arts Complex will appear under the General Obligation Bond, Ballot D, which will be voted on in November.

"This building will be an enormous benefit not only to NMSU but also to the public. It is designed to welcome the community and host many diverse forms of artistic expression with facilities to support theatre, dance, music, visual arts and creative Media Institute programs when completed," said Orasa Vaught, project manager with Facilities Management and Construction.

The public meeting will be held Monday, Sept. 22 from 6:30--8:30 p.m. in the second floor lobby of Corbett Center on the NMSU campus.
