Engineering refresher course set to begin Jan. 30

New Mexico State University's College of Engineering will have a refresher course beginning Jan. 30 for engineers planning to take the Fundamentals of Engineering (F.E.) Examination.

day course, given by NMSU faculty, will be from 7 to 9 p.m. every Thursday from Jan. 30 to March 20, and Thursday, April 3, at the Engineering Complex II, Room CE 103.

Subjects being covered include chemistry and material science, math, statics, mechanics of materials, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, dynamics, electrical circuits and engineering economics.

Senior engineering students, engineering graduates and engineers-in-practice are invited to attend. The cost is $25 for currently enrolled students and $35 for others. The course will not be offered unless 35 people are enrolled. To purchase an F.E. review manual at a reduced price, people should contact Paul Ricketts at (505) 646-4440.

Registration is from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Jan. 30 at the Engineering Complex II, Room CE 103.

The F.E. exam is scheduled for April 12. Application deadline for seniors and non-seniors is Feb. 14. The last day to cancel and receive credit for the next exam is March 14. For more information on the exam go to www.state.nm.us/pepsboard/.
