ASNMSU to hold semi-annual elections

The Associated Students of New Mexico State University will hold its semi-annual elections online beginning at 9 a.m. Monday, March 16, and will run 24 hours a day through Friday, March 20, with polls closing at 5 p.m.

Voting is open to the entire university student body. Students can cast their ballots online and will be able to vote for ASNMSU president, vice president as well as 30 college senators from their respective colleges.

According to Chief Elections Officer Clayton Bradley, the ballots also will include a Constitutional Referendum in which students will be able to vote towards including additional senators from the College of Extended Learning.

"In order for there to be more than the present 30 senators in the organization, it must be approved by a majority of the student body," Bradley said.

ASNMSU serves as the student government of the university in three branches: legislative, judicial and executive. The organization is committed to delivering valuable services and programs to the students of NMSU.
