Lambda Chi Alpha challenges volleyball team to charity game

In a benefit to raise funds for the local Red Cross and North America Canned Food Association, the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity has challenged the NMSU volleyball team to a volleyball game at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 14 at the NMSU Activity Center.

After being named intramural volleyball champions, the fraternity came up with the idea for the fundraiser. The group then approached head volleyball coach Michael Jordan and a traditional "Best of Five" volleyball match was planned.

Fraternity member Kevin Merhege said all 60 members of the organization will be participating and have been practicing a couple times a week.

The charity game will be open to the community and admission to the game is $2 or two canned food items.
