Public meeting to give updates on NMSU's Master Plan

New Mexico State University's Facilities Planning and Construction office will hold a public meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28, in the Corbett Center New Mexico Room 324 to give an update on this year's legislative funding and how it will affect NMSU's Master Plan.

Michael Rickenbaker, university architect and director of facilities planning and construction, will give an update on the legislative funding for capital outlay projects and give an assessment on how this year's funding impacts and influences the master plan. There will also be an opportunity for questions and answers. The meeting is expected to last about an hour but may go longer, depending on public input.

The largest funding allocation this year was $5.5 million for the proposed $37.5 million Phase I of the Arts Complex, which was awarded $19 million after voters approved the GO Bond in November. The rest of the funding will come from private donations. Other smaller funding amounts were provided by the legislature and their usage will be explained at the meeting.
